Forest Painting

Our favorite painting stood still,
A sudden rush my lungs had a fill,
The memories and our smiles,
Youth in heaven,
Such divine,
And now as we grew older,
I try so hard not to blame,
I try so hard to understand,
Our green forest of laughter,
The giggles held in my hand,
It’s not your fault,
Nor it is mine,
Life tend to break friendships,
My thoughts of us in one last line.
Hair fading to gray now,
Hands no longer convey,
What I truly mean to say somehow,
Or what I really needed to say.
I wish you stayed,
I wish you stayed,
Like this painting,
Forever to remain,
In it’s true colors,
I really wished you stayed…
But…you…didn’t,
And wouldn’t have anyway.
